Youth Exchange Projects “We, entrepreneurs”

Youth Exchange Projects “We, entrepreneurs”

The Youth Exchange Project “We, entrepreneurs” will be held in Lithuania from the 1st to 10th of December, in the Trakai region.

The project revolves around the idea of making entrepreneurship more accesible for the youth. Many youths who are interested in doing business, have good and innovative ideas and enthusiasm to accomplish it but they lack of business knowledge and are scared of entrepreneurships. So with that project we want to change youngsters opinion about entrepreneurship and inspire youth all over the Europe to take an action, get the know how to do it in theory and in practice, and turn their ideas and dreams into reality.

Objectives of the project are:

  • To share working tools necessary to implement participants business ideas into action, also discussing the various barriers in front of the youth;
  • To develop participants’ competences: sense of initiative and entrepreneurship, selfempowerment and self-esteem through project management and peer-learning in youth exchange;
  • To change the attitude of young people towards entrepreneurship from passive to active and raise their level of self-confidence so participants can experience entrepreneurship process as something fun and feasible;
  • To improve participant’s intercultural awareness and expression through discovery of new traditions, lifestyles, cultures and habits.

The participants of the project will be young people coming from Lithuania, Croatia, Russia, Bulgaria, Ukraine and Latvia. Participants must have  recently finished high school and/or university; they must be  currently unemployed; they must have  non or little entrepreneurship experience. Also 30% of the partiipants will come from a background with fewer opportunities, geographic and economic obstacles.

The participant will stay in in „La Villa Royale“. It is a villa house commonly used for weddings, team building activities and other big gatherings. The venue is situated 36 kilometers from Vilnius and 12 kilometers from Trakai.

Vilnius is really worth visiting and we strongly recommend you to plan a trip to the capital. It is full of history, amazing architectures, Art galleries, street musicians. Vilnius was in 2009 European capital of culture.

Concerning heath insurance for the participants, it is important to remember that the insurance is the responsibility of the participants! Participants from the European Union should apply for the European Health Insurance Card. The European Health Insurance Card (or EHIC) is issued free of charge and allows anyone who is insured by or covered by a statutory social security scheme of the EEA countries and Switzerland to receive medical treatment in another member state for free or at a reduced cost, if that treatment becomes necessary during their visit (for example, due to illness or an accident), or if they have a chronic pre-existing condition which requires care such as kidney dialysis. The term of validity of the card varies according to the issuing country. All EU members have right to European Health Insurance Card – get one before coming to Lithuania.

At the end of the project, the participants will recieve the Youthpass, as stated by the Eramus+ Programme. Youthpass is a European recognition tool for non-formal and informal learning in youth work.  It will confirm your participation in the project and will reflect which skills you learnt during the project.

Participants will be sent an Info Pack with all the information regarding the project
